Our community is made of individuals who bring a wealth of talents, skills, knowledge and passion to make Roachdale a better place to live! Our Roachdale Public Library was built on this very foundation. (Find the history of our library HERE )

How can YOU support the Roachdale Public Library? This is the time you can literally be a part of Roachdale history as we grow!

• Use the library services (we are an Evergreen Library and offer books, Libby, movies, magazines, and games to check out). In addition, we have public computers and faxing services.
• Help us spread the word! Share our website and social media posts.
• Join the Friends of the Library! (More below!!!)
• Contribute any amount to programs. Our entire budget for programs annually is $600. Summer Reading alone is approximately $3,000, our Reading Bead elementary program is approximately $1,500. We have program donation jars at the library and will have Amazon wish lists throughout the year. Truly, every dollar donated adds up to support these programs for our youth. Once our renovation is complete, we’ll add more adult programs as well!
• Contribute any amount to our renovation. Our renovation plans were VERY conservative. We needed the renovation to add accessibility – we will finally have an elevator and an ADA restroom both up & downstairs! In order to complete our bonding process, we had to proceed with no budget for any furnishings – including a new circulation desk, desks, and seating. There’s no budget for perimeter shelving, painting & carpeting in the current downstairs area, cabinetry for the children’s area crafts and Story Time materials, or even emergencies. Our Director is actively applying for grants, but support from the community is vital. Every dollar contributed goes into making this renovation the best possible for our community! Our fundraising efforts are made possible through our Friends of the Library, a 501(c)3 organization to support the Roachdale Public Library.
• Participate in our volunteer days in October and November! We’ll have more information as we approach the closing of the renovation project! There will be so many opportunities for all skills – including those who excel in decorating and organizing, handy men & women to help put shelving together and moving books and movies!
• Be a part of the Friends of the Library (yes, we mentioned this earlier!) This is one of the easiest way to be an active participant of growing the Roachdale Public Library. The Friends of the Library (FOL) is Roachdale Library’s partner and a 501(c)3 . This group is the backbone of fundraising, community events to help represent our organizations, and a huge think tank for us!
