You may access Evergreen online at home, work, or anywhere you have Internet access. Please ask staff if you are not familiar with how this works. We’ll be happy to show you!
Roachdale-Franklin Township Public Library is a proud member of Evergreen Indiana. Evergreen Indiana is a growing network of public libraries that use the Evergreen software to allow patrons of member libraries to view the catalogs of other member libraries and to borrow materials from them using their Evergreen Indiana library card. With Evergreen Indiana you can: access and borrow from over 130 other libraries on-line, place holds from your account on-line, renew items yourself on-line, receive holds and notifications through email.
Library Cards
Residents of Franklin Township should obtain their library card from Roachdale Public Library. The Putnam County Library is now an Evergreen Library as well! You no longer need to have 2 separate library cards for the Roachdale Public Library & Putnam County Library – obtain your library card from your home library and use it at either location! Proof of residence (with a current address) is required through any of the following: valid Indiana driver’s license, valid Indiana State ID, valid voter registration card, valid current government issued ID(military ID, passport), recent bank statement, recent utility bill, or tax receipt. If you live in Putnam County, but outside of Franklin Township – due to road construction in Greencastle, we have a limited number of Putnam County cards to issue – you can obtain your library card from the Roachdale Public Library! Staff of North Putnam School Corporation who live outside of Putnam County are still eligible to receive an outreach card through the Roachdale Public Library.
The non-resident fee is equal to the taxpayers’ current fee. The fee is $65.00. The Public Library Access Card (PLAC) is the name for the statewide library card enacted by the Indiana General Assembly in 1993 (Indiana Code 4-23-7.1-5.1). The PLAC program allows an individual to purchase a card which allows them to borrow materials directly from any public library in Indiana. Any individual who holds a valid Indiana public library card may obtain a PLAC card. The cost of the card is $65.00 and each card is valid for 12 months after being issued.
Patrons receive a new Evergreen Indiana library card at no cost. Replacement cards will cost $2.00. Each patron must have his/her card to check out items.
Change of Information
Patrons should notify the library of changes of address, phone number, or last name. Library services are terminated if you move out of the service area.
